Piston Comparison for 700 Series Dispensing Syringes
Last Updated: 03/01/2012

Pressure inside the dispensing syringe is evenly spread across the fluid surface by the piston that provides consistent dispensing performance. Double wiper seal pistons prevent dripping and eliminate material wastage in the dispensing syringes by wiping  the barrel wall clean, as fluid is deposited.

Using dispensing syringes without a piston inserted can result in unreliable dispensing deposits, as the supplied air pressure can become trapped inside the fluid, resulting in void pockets throughout the dispensing syringes. In addition moisture, found in the air of dispensing syringes, can affect the properties of the fluid.

Adhesive Dispensing Ltd is pleased to demonstrate the advantage of each piston type for dispensing syringes:

- Easy Flow Blue Piston - Low friction pistons are recommended for most general applications. They prevent air entrapment and eliminate material waste by wiping the barrel wall clean of the dispensing syringes. Use with anaerobic, epoxy, flux, SMA, oil, silicon, UV, etc.

- White Wiper Piston - The tighter fit wiper pistons are recommended for use with dispensing syringes, such as a manual syringe gun, to prevent leakage past the double wiping edges. For any fluid used on mechanical rod/guns including UV, etc.

- Red Flat Wall Piston - Straight wall pistons are recommended with dispensing syringes for reduced stringing and "bouncing" when dispensing high viscosity fluids. SMA, Solder paste, viscous greases, contact adhesives, etc.
