Application guide - UV lacquer to DVD and CD discs

Customers applying UV adhesives as part of a high speed automated process will require a dispensing system that is accurate, reliable and easy to maintain.

Solution to use a TS5622V-DVD diaphragm valve fed by a TS1258 pressure pot controlled by a TS500R digital controller. The controller is connected to the parent machine via a PLC using the built-in I/O port on the TS500R. As the TS500R receives a signal, it cycles to provide a controlled pulse of air to the diaphragm valve. Adhesive is fed under pressure from the TS1258 tank and supplied down flexible small bore fluid lines to the TS5622V-DVD valve.

The valve is compact and therefore easily positioned above, to the side or below the work piece. For multiple valve installations, a manifold is used. Stroke adjustment on each valve can be used to fine tune the accuracy. These valves can run a high speed repeatable deposits or on continuous flow. Black fluid lines and tubing can be used if UV glues are easily affected by light.
